A look at the garden.

Eand image says more than a thousand words. On 1.5 acres, we grow seasonal vegetables year-round in nature. Take a look at the Picking Garden at our Phood Community Farm on the outskirts of Southeast Eindhoven.

Learning about permaculture.

Every week we put our hands in the earth together and learn about permaculture.

Picking your own vegetables.

Hyper-locally grown vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits you pick yourself, seasonally.

Greening the city together.

Together we care for the land in an ecological and regenerative way.

Create social impact.

Your participation creates more work and learning places for young people distant from the labor market.

Online growth platform.

We learn from nature, but especially from each other and through tutorials, recipes and workshops.

Learning Together. Growing together.

Welcome to the Phood Farm Picking Garden! Here you will learn all about growing regeneratively grown vegetables, inspired by permaculture.
As a Community Farmer, you’ll get to work with like-minded gardeners, under the guidance of our enthusiastic farmleads Aafke and Pascale.
Discover how to sow, harvest and even make your own compost-and enjoy the fresh outdoors!

With a (growing) schedule, you will help about 6 hours a month in our cozy permaculture (picking) garden.
After working, you get to harvest whatever is available at that time-far from it!
Through our online platform, you’ll stay up to date on what’s ready to pick each week and where to find it.
With a Pluktuin subscription, you farm and pick together the first few times, and then you can come and pick at your own time in consultation with Aafke and Pascale.
The self-picking garden is open Tuesday through Saturday.

Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere-it’s approachable, fun, delicious and cracking fresh!
Gardening together is not only good for the vegetables, but also for your health and strengthens the bond with other gardeners.
We grow unsprayed, local and regeneratively grown produce. And you can taste that!

This subscription costs €360 per year per person.
So if you want to harvest for 2 people or more, you can do that too.
After this you are a Community Farmer at Phood Farm and can participate and self-harvest in our self-picking garden.

Harvesting follows the natural rhythm of the seasons.
In summer, of course, the harvest will be more bountiful than in late winter or early spring.
However, there will be work on the land every week, even in winter, and there will be something to harvest almost every week.

Yes.
If you purchase a subscription now, you get a temporary
voucher of €100 for our Phood Farm indoor products, such as mushrooms, microgreens, kombucha, oils and broths.
This voucher is valid for 1 year and you get until the next season starts again on March 15.
In addition, as long as you are a member, you get,
25% discount on all products in our indoor farm shop products!

We are working together on the Community Farm.
We ask that per person
6 hours per month to co-farm throughout the year.
This strengthens the sense of community, makes for a bigger harvest and is also very enjoyable.
Together we make something beautiful out of it!

It is desirable to help out in the fields.
We are doing this together and together we will grow and harvest the beauty.
We need each other to make this a beautiful success.
So come especially to help, enjoy, catch up and connect with each other and the land!
If you prefer not to help grow your own vegetables, this picking garden may not be as suitable.

At Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 09:30 and 12:00 together with our farmleads Aafke and Pascale (or present interns) we will first help and learn on the land and then harvest under supervision between 12:00 and 14:00.
Between 12:00 and 12:30 there will be a clear central explanation by Aafke or Pascale how to harvest.
Outside these times you can also harvest independently after clear instructions via short videos and a list on the whiteboard.
Every week we will also indicate via the platform which vegetables are harvestable and what the portions are.
On Sundays and Mondays, Riel Farms is closed for self-harvest.
Are you unsure about how it works or do you not yet know how to harvest a certain vegetable?
If so, we ask you to join Aafke and Pascale for some time first to get the hang of it.
It is important to harvest well in order to lose as little crop as possible.

There are some tools available as you may be used to, these can always be used if someone from Phood Farm is there.
If you want to make sure you can harvest without waiting for tools, or you are meanwhile self-harvesting at a time of your own choosing, bring your own harvest knife and harvest shears.
Also consider your own harvest bag, backpack or crate.
Everyone has their own wishes in this we notice from experience.

If you prefer to keep shopping without helping out in the fields, the harvest left over from the land is also offered at the Indoor Phood Farm Shop (in the Phood indoor location).
You can become a member if
Phood Farm Shop Member for €120 per year and enjoy 25% discount on all products, tours and workshops in our farm store.

It is possible to take 1 subscription and eat it together with the rest of the family.
Please note that the harvest portion is for 1 person and you cannot harvest for 3 or 4 people.
If you want to harvest for 2 adults you can take out a subscription for 2 people.

In that case, you can give your harvest moments to someone else who may harvest in your place.
Note: new community farmers or people filling in will always have to join Aafke and Pascale first on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Harvesting is done where indicated (with color signs) taking into account certain numbers and grammages per vegetable.
You will find a list of harvestable species, their quantity, location and colors.
Limits are there to distribute the harvest fairly throughout the community.
Also, a small portion will go to the Phood Farm Shop.

You may walk freely through the garden at any time and enjoy all its beauty.
Please do like to stay on the paths and not stand or walk in the vegetable beds.
This is important because we do not machine our soil.
We work with a no-dig setup.
By walking in the vegetable beds we compact soil and this makes it more difficult for the greens to grow.

That’s not a problem. We require 6 hours a month of help, learning, connecting with each other and hands in the soil of the garden. An incredibly enjoyable and educational gathering. You can arrange these hours freely each month and we are flexible about this. If you can’t do a week, you can also catch up at another time. For example, you can come every week for 1.5 hours on Saturday morning or every other day for 3 hours.
See what fits your rhythm and experience for yourself what an enrichment it is for yourself!

We have chosen to have recurring payments completed via SEPA Direct Debit or any common credit card.
For SEPA direct debit, all you have to do is enter your IBAN and details when signing up and your payment will be processed annually thereafter without any hassle.

If you take out an annual subscription it is for a full year.
If you wish to stop, you can of course do so at any time.
Please cancel the subscription before the end of your subscription year.
If you are in the middle of your subscription, there will be no refund.

Yes, you can.
